High Woods Country Park is one of Colchester's most popular dog walks, combining woodland trails, wildlife lakes and open parkland. With wide paths, plenty of variety and routes suitable for most abilities, it's an excellent choice for everything from a quick weekday stroll to a longer weekend adventure.

Local tip: Water-loving dogs may be disappointed here. The lakes are a great feature of the park, but dogs aren't allowed to swim in them, so don't forget to bring water on warmer days.
